What did you do today.
Re: What did you do today.
@All - Great looking minis everyone.
I finally picked up a paint brush for the first time in months yesterday. I'm trying to come up with a colour scheme for a new army, but so far inspiration eludes me. It's good to be slinging paint again though.

And here are the results. I still need to neaten up the bases and put a bit of matt varnish over the decals, but these are the schemes I wound up with.
First up, an Assault Intercessor from the Void Born Chapter.
And a Tyranid Warrior from Hive Fleet Umibozu.
The colours for the Nid are lifted from a recent Youtube video by Ninjon, though without the use of an airbrush and, y'know, skill.
Why am I painting Primaris Marines and Tyranids, you ask. No particular reason that I can think of....

But she said she has changed, and she is begging me to take her back. This is the 9th time she has said that though.

Re: What did you do today.
10th is talking a really good game in terms of accessibility though, so maybe this time they've really changed?
(Well, it always changes, just a question of what did it change *to*...)
But if it doesn't work out the minis will stay good till 11th...12th...15th will be great for sure...
Nice models Primarch! Particularly approve of the use of purple.

I agree that the messaging coming from GW sounds fantastic, the previews look interesting and the free to download indexes on day 1 make the whole thing very tempting. People loved the Index edition of 8th after all, so the Index edition of 10th should be equally as awesome.
It's what comes after that is always the issue. Can they avoid the temptation to make every new 'dex just that little bit stronger until they eventually have to errata a book before it goes on sale? Can they maintain a close balance between options so that everyone doesn't just default to the clearly vastly superior option? Will they accidentally create a situation where they have to start dishing out special rules as band-aids on a systemic problem with the rules? Will some books be valid for more than 3 months of the edition?
Will this be the Underworld's edition of the game where it is genuinely close to being balanced and accessible, or will it be the Necromunda edition where rules are scattered everywhere and often contradictory?
I want to be positive about things, but GW's track record is very inconsistent.
But, as you say, the minis will stay good for a long time to come.

Re: What did you do today.
Finished the marines with the best guns while they are still mildly meta, just before the index brings them back down to earth.
Re: What did you do today.
What on Mars are those guns? Missile pods strapped to chain-guns mounted on a storm bolter? Positively Gundam class overkill there. Of course being an old Ork, I respekt all dat Dakka!

Missile launchers with underbarrel belt fed rapid fire missile launchers. They are pretty Primaris Marines trying to gentrify the Flash Gitz' neighbourhood.

Those guns are nearly the size of the marines themselves
