I have a box of cold ones to do up as Exodites (shining spear aspect warriors, who I promise to never move flat out, or if people aint fussed I can just make up rules for em), and I figure the carny will make an ace mount for an Exodite lord. It should count as a wraithlord in all regards. My logic runs thus:
wraithlord:dino version
two flamers : breath of fire. Oh yeah, it's a fire breathin' dragon
Wraithsword : um...pointy teeth, claws, etc?
Wraithsight : Truculent Beast. (requires psyker within 6" or it stands a 1 in 6 chance of standing around like a big dooberry)
Otehr stuff:
Sv3+, T8, 3wounds - it's big n scaly. T8 doesnt seem ludicrous. That, and the eldar forcefield around the rider
Monstrous creature: um. yes.
WS4 - and why not? apex predator n all that. And again, highly trained rider on top.
While in theory I could mount a brightlance or something on it, I promise I won't, as that would just be silly.
Now, I just need to cobble together an Exodite lord (I have eldar bitz for the coldy riders, but I wasnt actually expecting a Carnosaur to drop into my lap. I shall have to ponder my bitz box for a while...) I think there may be a large amount of green stuff involved in this project. I'm kinda thinking:
cold ones as dragons
riders made up from bits of the dark eldar riders, plus helion bits (I have a spare box of these, believe it or not) plus bits from my extensive eldar/dark eldar bitz collection.
Green stuff the following:
eldar style wraithbone helms for the coldies. Brain linky empathic neural joinifiers. Whatever.
big duster coats for all.
possibly hats for some, bandanas for others.
combination of low tech and hi-tech. e.g. bandages round wounds, but wraithbone bionic leg on one cold one.
a big back-saddle thing on the carnosaur, like that oliphaunt rider from LotR. In fact, bones n stuff will definitely feature prominently.
The general feel should be steely-eyed sons of the desert meets native american shaman meets cowboys meets wraithbone.
I may even have to draw some concept sketches...
