I saw these this afternoon, painted by Stewart in GW Glasgow, and thought they were worth sharing. Click the images for larger versions.

Those are awesome, I agree that the Swooping Hawk one is the best.

Hmmm...
The SW one looks cool.
The WS one is quite good.
The others are a bit 'meh.
Still the idea would be ace if it made it into the Eldar Codex whenever it comes out.

I pretty much agree with Pikey on this. Nice idea, and a couple of em are well done, but they're definitely gaming models rather than painty models. Still, fair play to the bloke. Dem's a lotta wraithlord...

I don't really want to see aspect wraithlords in the codex, for all that it kinda works with the fluff. If there were, it'd create exactly the same problem that eldar players have with aspect warriors, to wit: for an eldar player's model collection to be viable, he (or she) must own one squad of every aspect. It's a big entry-level disincentive to start eldar. (with marines, you can just say "that melta gun is actually a plasma gun today" and thereby use your newbie starter army with a slightly different configuration. With eldar you dont have that option, unless you fancy "those scorpions are dark reapers today.") Can you imagine needing to buy 8 or 9 different models to represent each aspect-lord (at 25-30quid each), but only ever being able to use one or two per game? Pain in the bloody arse, that would be.

anyway, anyway - props to the chap in GW glasgow for trying summink new :)

Must be my photos; all of those are, after all, display models in the front window of GW, and they compare rather favourably to everything else in there. I'll need to go back once the Dark Eldar Wraith-Incubus -Lord Talos is done. :)

As for rules discussions, it's pretty much not the point, but never mind. I don't agree that Eldar armies are somehow less proxy-friendly than anyone else - if you can accept that a meltagun is a plasma gun today, you can do the same with different Aspect Warriors. I'm not even sure "newbies" would bother - I bet a good proportion will just use whichever models they happen to own, regardless of whether they're the best choice. I know that's why I have Imperial Guard infantry squads armed with a flamer and a heavy bolter, for example. :)

By the way Dave, whatever happened to that Falcon of yours, that languished in your drawer for years? The one with the dragon head and griffon wings?
