Someday guys we really should just quit our day jobs and start a painting company based here in Japan.
This guy looks like he really enjoys what he does and has an awesome you tube channel to boot. I was thinking of having the unpainted half of my Empire commissioned for a Bogenhafen theme. Simply won't have time after May and I want to have them done. This guy really bigs up the hobby, good businessman, nothing negative.

I've always thought that would be an awesome job, but I paint so slow I'd probably make like a dollar an hour.

I have asked these guys to do a test model for me at one stage. Awesome customer service but very very basic painting, which I suppose is great if that is what you are after.

Their painting is great for those who want an army painted really quickly. The outcome is a passable table top. They glaze all there figs and pay little or no attention to detail. Compare their gallery to that of this other company's. I think the prices are about the same:

Unless you are fast, the hourly rate is shitty. It is good if you do it in your free time after work AND you have a client who is both understanding and flexible about deadlines.

It is not fun. It is a weight around the neck until done.

Wow that blue table model looks rather rough. How much do they really charge though. I would like to get few units added to my Wife's necrons and I really do not feel like putting them together or painting them.

I am have to say that it is very low pay unless you can paint 20 models an hour. And to do that well you have to cut the quality.

Yeah, the economic reality is probably that to get well-painted models at a price most people can afford, you're going to have to hire someone from Poland or Eastern Europe to do it — somewhere your yen will buy a lot and people are eager to find creative jobs wherever they can.

They charge quite a bit. I was quoted over four hundred american dollars for a 25-30 point warmachine army.

Given how long it takes to actually paint 1 model, they either have to charge a lot or rush it, neither of which is a great option really. I guess if you have more money than time, the $400 dollar warmachine force might be an option.
