Local Legend, R-Man, Featured On GW`s Site

Post by Danguinius » Sat Jun 26, 2010 12:40 am

Most of you have probably met Ryogo, better known as R-Man. He is a legend in wargaming in Japan. Not only is he one of the greatest painters to have ever walked the earth, his website "Realm of R-Man" helped expose and popularize wargaming among Japanese players (especially at a time when GW translated very little into Japanese). I`m lucky enough to wargame with him and his beautifully painted armies almost every month...and I`m also lucky to call him my friend. He is as friendly and easy to wargame with as his miniatures are beautifully painted.
Today, some of his Warhammer Fantasy stuff is featured on GW`s homepage. Take a look and support one of the true legends and original wargamers in Japan.

Wow! Great stuff. It's good to see our part of the world getting a mention on Big Brother's homepage. Be sure to drag him up to Nagoya for our Autumn Warhammer Fantasy. I for one would love to see his stuff in person.

I second that wow. Brilliant stuff, very inspiring to see and great for Japan to get such a good shout out. It must have been hard for the guy to get into Warhammer before much was readily translated.
The giant in particular is really characterful. I may have to steal that idea for my own empire.

lovely stuff - props to R-man for getting featured, and deservedly so. I'd love for him to come up to Nagoya some time :)

You wont be winning the painting contest if he does. Not that I think you'd mind. That guy is an awesome painter.
