Now I have your attention with the thread title, some of the DoW minis I have coming from eBay are already painted. Now while I'm no great painter, I like to paint things myself and want to strip them back to metal. As I'm fresh off the boat here, what products in Japan are good for stripping minis?
Name and photo if poss would he helpful. Also if you can fill me in on the where to buy, that'd help!

There is a product called Simple Green that you can buy from various DIY stores that strips paint very well and doesnt damage the models. I recommend finding your nearest Kahma Home Center as they usually have it in stock. I think it is about 1000 yen for a liter.

Dont buy the spray type, just the liquid type.

You can get Simple Green here - its about 1500-2000 yen a bottle. For metal minis, tho, I just use household bleach, as long as the mini isn't too old.

I use brake fluid for metal models. Somewhat on the toxic side but you can use it for years. I keep it in a large glass jar with a very tight lid. Drop in the jar, let them soak, shake up now and then to start breaking up paint. Take out and use a brush to clean up. Used it heavily to revamp my SoB army and it'll even weaken epoxy. Trial and error with plastics, some it eats, other's it discolors.

Whatever you use, make sure to thoroughly clean the models afterwards because the residue will likely ruin your paint job.
