Advanced Terrain

Post by Dungeon Lord » Sat Jan 19, 2013 2:16 pm

Hi all.

I was thinking of buying a set of conseptum walls from this company:
http://www.advancedterrain.com/collections/terrain

They are a new company and were set up using Kickstarter. Their stuff is made from rubber and will cost $25 to post to Japan (for a 3-5 sets).

Is anybody interested in splitting the postage? There stuff seems to be good quality.

Hey! I remember those guys :) I linked to their startup page aaaages ago, back in the days before kickstarter existed. I believe they drop kicked, stood on, and ran their stuff over with a car. Resilient is very much the word. Not cheap, mind you. Still, a worthy purchase, I suspect. Not for me, though.

I am still tossing up whether to get these or go for something more budget. When I take into account the time it takes to paint terrain and the fact that it can break and chip. Their stuff seems very reasonable. But when I look at shipping and compare to plastic equivalents, I am not so sure.

Still, the conseptum looks like quality and the best value.

Got a few emails from "Patick" from advanced terrain. Nice guy, quick response. Overall and A++ form customer service. Plus he is sending me a sample. He just went up on my, recommended dealer Rate-o-metre.

Fair do's. Good customer service is of prime importance, and it seems he's ticking the boxes.

Advanced Terrain sent me a sample and it arrived yesterday. It was a toppled beige painted column. It sits flat on the table and very sturdy (but not perfectly hard, so you won't be chipping minis if they scrape against it. The paint on the terrain doesn't seem to come off (at least with normal use).

Good quality stuff.
