A Monthly Goals Thread

Post by The Other Dave » Sun Jan 10, 2016 9:03 am

Or, near-monthly, weekly, what have you - basically, here is a thread to set modest short-term painting goals and, hopefully, show everybody that you met them! (Mostly because I need that kind of structure to actually get off my tuckus and paint. :D)

To get us started: I, the Other Dave, will paint these models by this month's Zengo meeting (that is, January 31st):

That's wrapping up the painting on two walkers and their dropship, plus getting pretty much everything done on 4 rocket artillery tanks, finishing up my 1500 points of PHR.

This is a great idea.

This month:
1) Finish the Helbrute.

2) Finish the 4/5 terminators in backlog.

Extra:
3) Start the Skitarii

4) Start a unit of polish voltiguers

Good idea for a thread. Difficult to actually come up with a realistic goal, though.

Hmmm. Let's say:
Finish all my 4ground buildings, and paint up the factory. I'm limited for time this month as my wife's friend is coming to visit near the end of the month and she and her daughter will be sleeping in my hobby room, thus hobby activity will need to be put on hold in favor of tidying the room and making it a) livable for a guest and b) safe for a small child.

It'll probly take a while :(

Wow. And then Corona happened. Just....crickets, all the way through to 2023...

Paint 10 Frostgrave minis, at least 6 objective markers for same, and paint at least one unit of WotR minis for Lion Rampant (6-12 minis).

I've been doing something along these lines over on the Warlord forums for a little over 2 years now, so I'll just copy/paste my January goals here.

For January, I pledge:
30 Warhammer 40K minis
5 D&D minis
1 Daimler Dingo

Should keep me busy.
Painted Minis in 2014: 510, in 2015: 300, in 2016 :369, in 2019: 417, in 2020: 450

This month, may aim is to finish the High Elf army I should have finished this time last year - still to go are ten Sea Guard, a mounted army standard bearer and Elatharion. Next month? Dunno, but the new Yu Jing Guija for Infinity is calling me ...

And with entire hours to spare, here's my goal met.

For February I think I'll shoot for some 6mm Napoleonics.

Managed 4 out of 5 buildings, and no factory at all. I did paint a batfink goblin necromancer, mind you. :?

And he's adorable! What were the 4Ground buildings for?

Here's my goal for February. Because of the Epic thing, I'm not going to Joshin this month, so I'll just say by the 28th: 6 bases of line infantry for my 6mm Napoleonics, and 1 commander base, for a cool 147 little mans.
