New kickstarter for terrain
Not entirely sure how I feel about this myself, but raging heroes are shortly going to be doing a ltd ed cardboard terrain kickstarter. It remains to be seen how much it'll cost, but I figured I'd post the link so's y'all can make up your own minds

Re: New kickstarter for terrain
I thought it looked like a really good system for poking your eye out during a game! Seriously, it looks pretty good (in the terribly-lit photos they've showed us) and the price will be what makes or breaks it.

Re: New kickstarter for terrain
It looks similar in concept to the Malifaux Terraclips terrain. Card walls, walkways etc clipped together with small plastic clips. Without knowing more about this kickstarter, I can't comment on it directly, but my experience with Terraclips is:
Pros -
Looks good and doesn't require any painting (minimal gluing for staircases).
Very versatile and you can have multiple levels of terrain.
Cons -
Quite heavy if you want to carry a full set around.
Takes ages to set up.
In other words, it's terrain for your home, not Joshin.
So if this Raging Heroes stuff is lighter (Terraclips uses very thick cardstock) and you can pre-assemble pieces at home, it could be a winner. Price is certainly a factor, but a full GW style terrain set will cost an arm and a leg anyway and take a lot of assembly time and painting to look good.

Re: New kickstarter for terrain
I watched their trailer thinking, the only thing they need are space marines and servo skulls. What they have is very apparently, and more than likely very intentionally, a 40k setting rip off. Which is brilliant because it will work. Thanks mij, I've got my eye (of horus) on this one.
Hmm im on the fence, i still want to get a gaming mat, and they ain't cheap!

Yeah, Raging Heroes gets a lot of flak, actually, because they're basically "40K with the serial numbers filed off and replaced with boobs and combat stiletto heels".jus wrote:I watched their trailer thinking, the only thing they need are space marines and servo skulls. Re: New kickstarter for terrain
This Ks has launched. It'll run for 7 days, has already made its target, and has...a fairly high entry point. Personally, I think it's nice, but more than I need. It seems a good deal for a group, or someone with plans for a mega-table. Worth a look, but perhaps a bit too specialised for most tastes?

Re: New kickstarter for terrain
For a full table of terrain, I don't think the price is too bad. It is a lot to pay out in one go, but depending on your view of card terrain compared with plastic, resin or MDF it may (or may not) be good value.
