I had no idea such things existed. 3d printing of master minis, ok, yes. Fully rendered 3d printers that do it IN COLOUR is beyond the pale. Look at the video in post 16 in this thread.

Holy......
If those things ever reach the point of being commercially available GW, PP and all the other model companies will be ruined.

The WoW figure prints are indeed pretty spiffy (if expensive - just look at the manpower required to get to the final stage, not to mention the tech) - a friend of mine got his character done up as a gift. 'Course, the reason it works is that a) the figures are pretty big, and b) being MMO models, they're intrinsically, er, polygonal - no smooth curves to worry about, which with figure printing often end up with ugly laddering effects.
That's not to say that the technology will never reach the point where high-quality print-on-demand wargame-scale figure prints will be economically viable, but it's not for a good few years yet. Plus I'm not sure it'll be a silver bullet to supersede traditional minis - look how well PPPs are doing, for example, despite huge increases in quality.

They have been doing that for a while now. I saw an ad that was taking orders for people that wanted their World of Warcraft characters made into display models. They only had pictures at the time and they weren't too impressive. Seeing this video however (it was my first time to see it) has changed my mind. They look MUCH better than I remember.
