where to buy brushes
perhaps an odd question, but I'm looking to get a couple of brushes for my kids to start painting with (until now theyve been using my somewhat-beat-up-but-still-usable ones). Are there any Japan-based online stores that sell decent paint brushes at a not stupid price? (e.g. I can get a pure kolinski from R&c for under 5quid in the UK, but I havent found "hobby" brushes here (eg GW brushes) for less than 1000en. doesn't need to be pure Kolinki's at this point, but something that holds a decent point and won't frustrate the kids by splitting and dying within a couple days would be nice. I usually get my own brushes from Rosemary & co, which would be fine, but their intl shipping is such that it's better to buy half a dozen on so at a time, and I don't need more than the 2 brushes at the moment.

I usually buy from Firestorm.

The brushes are cheap and of a reasonable quality, you just need to order something else to make up the minimum for international shipping.

You know I think I spotted some hobby brushes at the 100 yen store the other day. I didn’t stop at the time as I was with my daughter, but if there’s a local one coin store nearby you might give them a shot.

Re: where to buy brushes
cheers folks. I'll have another looky at firestorm. Kiiiiinda want to try and avoid spending the required extra for free shipping, but...well, it's not like there's a shortage of stuff I want there...
*edit* Oooooooooor, I could just give them one of the 5 brand-new unused brushes I just found hidden in the murk of my painty desk.
you know you have too many brushes when....
anyway, idiocy aside, thanks for the suggestions, chaps. Your time and effort is appreciated, even if I am an eejit

You're talking to a guy who once forgot he had an extra Baneblade sized tank. I'm not going to stand in judgement over a couple of brushes.

For future reference I used to buy brushes from a store near my old house in Takaoka called ハンディクラフトストア セブンタウンズ (〒461-0001 愛知県名古屋市東区泉 2丁目9−11 セカンドタウン 1F) - nothing fancy but fairly cheap and long-lasting.
