Hello! This is thread where I will put down a link to at least one interesting hobby-related thing that I found on facebook today. I can't promise I'll do it every day, but it'll be most days, for sure.

Nice backpack on that droid.

btw, does anybody know where I can get more info on the Men of Iron? I'm aware of them generally, just wondering where one can obtain more details.

Not really, sorry. I don't think they have ever really been covered in a lot of detail in anything that I have read. Imperial background gets really vague and fuzzy before the start of the Great Crusade. They are mentioned, but what they were and what happened haven't been touched on. I think the Blackstone Fortress mini is the first of it's kind.

The Dinogas Filling Station in the first post is nicely done. As far as post apocalypse style scenery goes, it looks great. Just the kind of place for repairing your power armour or scavenging for spare parts and ammo.

The Man of Iron is gorgeous, the shading on the armour is fantastic.

The weathering on the man of iron's back pack is quite something - the rest of him is pretty clean though. It must be hard to clean the parts you can't reach. :D

I came across this new space marine chapter called the Sons of the Phoenix who are apparently - according to Bellasarius Cawl - gene sons of the Imperial Fists, and are totally not in any way connected to the Emperor's Children. ;) They even bring their own candles because, you know, the night is dark and full of terrors!

Why would they be related to the Emperor's Children? Surely nobody would try to use traitor's geneseed that had been stockpiled 10000 years previously? :o
I guess it's marginally more subtle than calling them The Emperor's Children's Children, but only just.

I think I'd seen that Sons of the Phoenix model on the Community site or something - it's pretty sweet, and yeah, if I was starting my marines today I'd totally go with a traitor geneseed chapter.

It's a nicely painted model alright.

I'd like to suggest some names if you do decide to start a new 'loyal' chapter:
The Grandsons of Horus
Word Carriers
1001 Sons
Beta Legion
Totally loyalist chapters, nothing to worry about.
