Sometimes, though, I dunno.

(Ah, who am I kidding, I'd get a huge kick out of playing on a table with this kind of terrain.)

@ToD - A fully painted table of terrain? Awesome, even if the decor is a little odd. :)

@M_i_J - Those look like a fantastic amount of time and effort has been put into every square mm of the figure.
#cries in shame#.

Yeah, I've seen that pic around. That would be an immediate "Yeah, sorry, I'm not playing a game like this" from me.

I can’t help but look at this and think of certain other comapnies’ efforts to sculpt a female Commisar and think “nah. This is how it’s done.”

I think the difference is that GW made a commissar who happens to be a woman, whereas other companies made women who happen to be commissars, if that makes sense?

That's a good way to put it, Prim. I've been really impressed with GW lately and their recent low-key increase in gender diversity in their models (and fiction!). Low-key in the sense you say - they've been producing models in their ranges (and characters in their fiction) who happen to be female, doing the exact same things the males in their respective ranges do, without being boobs-out pinups. Like, there are a number of models in the Blackstone set that I honestly didn't notice were women until I got close enough to paint them, but when you look at them are, indeed, obviously female - a little bit smaller and slimmer than their male counterparts, with different facial structure, but using the same gear and with the same amount of skin exposed. Bravo, says this fella.

I was gonna post an image tax of a cool warhammer giant / knight armiger / tyranid conversion I found on Twitter last night, but Twitter ain't letting me see it any more.
