Base Sizes
Ok, I am thinking of adding a sorcerer to my Death Guard heros and I won't be using the standard Chaos Space Marine Sorcerer. I will probably use a fantasy miniature (or that great looking Underworlds Model) to keep the Nurgle aesthetic.
What size base does it go on and how do I find out?

Re: Base Sizes
Use the same size base as the rest of your death guard troops. It really doesn't matter that much. If you're putting a standard sized model on a 10" diameter base, people will probably cry foul, but if it's 32mm or 40mm it's no big deal.

Re: Base Sizes
I believe all the GW models have it written on their page on the GW website what size base comes in the kit, so you can always check what a normal chaos sorcerer has there.

Re: Base Sizes
I wouldn’t worry too much. Unless you are about to jump into an ITC tourney, nobody around here too much concern, most particularly as we have a lot proxies, alternative makers, kit bash constructions, clear bases, magnetized things and what not, and World War II and Gundam kits to boot. Just model as you like it.

Re: Base Sizes
I'm trying to be strict on *myself* for base size because in my army the models where it matters (Primaris vs Smallmarine officers) invariably project an aura. I need to make sure the shenanigans I'm up to in order to get every unit in my army within 6" are at least legal
Happy to play against lego minifigs, pokemon and gundam though.
(I expect my basing principles to last right up until I want to field the square based Scythes I bought from Dave )

Re: Base Sizes
Yeah, there's a level of play where the difference between a 32mm base and a 40mm base makes a difference, but I don't think our group's at it. For most instances (I always told myself as I put my dudes on odd-sized and odd-shaped bases ) as long as you measure consistently from base edge to base edge it's not really going to make a difference.
Feel free to call me Dave!

Re: Base Sizes
To be honest, I think the only criterion GW uses is “ will it look OK on this size”? As long as the feet don’t stick off the edge, all’s well.
