Wow. It's a great miniature regardless of it being a Youngblood entry.

Blimey - they start gettin' good young in Spain...
Actually, its interesting that its a NMM zenithal lit mini. Ive been reading a lot about how a lot of painters are really hacked off with GW about the UK golden daemons this year. Lots and lots of CMON forum regulars have complained about how staff were just plonking their minis down in the cases any old how, with no care or attention to facing or even just not damaging them, and then the judges never even looked at them come judging time. And, the eventual finalists/winners were minis that rated about 8.4 ~ 8.5 on CMON, when there were entries that had scored 9.3 and higher in there that never even made the first cut. heck, I rate an 8.1, so I'd expect a lot better than that to be winning the GDs...
It seems that GW UK had implemented a policy of "edge highlighting (GW white dwarf style) or not considered" without telling any of the contestants, and a lot of people are saying theyre not gonna go next year, prefering to go to GD Spain, France, whatever, or even other shows like Euro militaire etc. Add to that the fact that apparently the Forge World pre-order stand only had 1 till, and that was being used for payments for both pre-orders and sales-on-the-day, and its no wonder that folks were queuing out the door.
Anyway, yon mini is a very nice piece. Looks like GW europe has the right idea, at least

When you look at the GD winners there is an obvious difference betweed the contest in regards to ability with mainland Europe ranking top, the UK in the middle and N. America next. If you want to be considered the best, it has to be one of the Euro comps.

Nice looking paint job on that.
I was rather underwhelmed by the minis from the Golden Daemon this year. Hopefully next year they'll have a better range. I'm guessing lots of Dark Eldar next time round.
