Statue Plinths

Post by Jye Nicolson » Sat May 27, 2023 6:57 am

I was considering turning some spare character models into objective markers by virtue of making statues out of them (in 10th edition, you can't stand on objective markers anymore, so while the mats are still useful, you ideally have a physical object there).

Rather than just stick the models directly on bases, I was considering getting some plinth-like objects to stand them on. Is that the sort of thing I'd find in a dedicated hobby store like Volks or is it a job for Jus' House of Resin?

Volks has a few, but they are probably a little pricey. I picked up some cheap wooden blocks from my local Daiso to do sonething similar.

That sounds promising - what section in Daiso - toys or craft or...? 🙇

Volk's usually has some and they are nice and not that pricey. They're like 500-1000 yen about. The only thing is it seems very random whether they have some, a ton, or none in stock at any given time.

In my store they were near the stationery section...

The House of resin, as ever, stands ready to serve.

Found them, cheers! I went to Volks first but the selection was a bit random and a bit too big. The blocks are plain but very close to the right size.

Next time I'll go House of Resin but this time Daiso will let me put the plan into action straight away 😂
