The best terrain I have ever seen

Post by Spevna » Wed Nov 17, 2010 4:20 am

http://www.009.cd2.com/members/how_to/nouaillier_a.htm

This guys has made a 1940's French town. His terrain is the most realistic I have ever seen. The process he uses is amazingly simple but mind bogglingly time consuming.

Take a look. I was dead impressed.

Holy magganoli!

That is movie-grade work, right there. I thought I was looking at reference photos of real buildings for a second.

Me too. They are works of art. The patience required is beyond me though.

Words (almost) fail me.
That is soooo awesome. Like Spev and TOD, I thought the first pic was a reference photo. I have seen plenty of great terrain before but this stuff is the best ever.
Realistically, I could never in a million years achieve such a standard but even a quick read through gives me more than a few good ideas.

That is some crazy-awesome attention to detail there.
If you owned that terrain you would win every game as your opponent would be too awe-struck to play the game.

dear god.

I usually find stuff like this inspiring. Instead, I find this slightly...scary. I really do. How in the seven hells of beelzebub does one man have the time in his life to make things like this? I mean, seriously, hand painting every single building facade? and the brickworK! ye gads!!!
current (2019) hobby interests

It is really too bad that there are not any train modlers that build si-fi stuff.
