Dark Eldar Scourge Conversion

Post by Primarch » Wed Dec 08, 2010 10:57 pm

Some of the fine gents over on BoLS have been hard at work on converting their own scourges based on the concept art in the new DE codex.
Take a look.

And only 90 dollars for a unit of 5. :o
I'll wait for the real ones I think, but if anyone put down a unit of these then I would be very impressed.

That is very close to my opinion. Just substitute the word "cool" for the word "retarded" and we are on the same page :D

$90 for 5 minis that will be released in the near future is dumb beyond compare.

The same guy spent $200 to scratch build a model that will be released for around $80.
Whilst I like the 'wave' release system GW is currently using, it does lead to some big gaps in the ranges and some people just cant wait. Scourges are one of the units I looked at in the DE book and thought "They are a no-brainer." Obviously if people are paying so much for them, then I was right.

It does 'look' cool though

Gonna have to disagree with you there. The wings don't match the body in my opinion. They look a bit too chunky to be Eldar in design.

It rates a 'Meh' from me too. If you really can't wait, it might do as a conversion but at $90 for a squad forget it.

Make it 3 "meh"s. The fluff says that Scourges are all surgically altered and whatnot to fly, the wings are like real, right? The illustration is like this scary beaked vulture looking thing.
These look like Swooping Hawks, not bad Hawks, but they do not say, "I'm here to dive shrieking out of the sky, shred you and rip bloody chunks out of your still warm carcass."
...and now his Head was full of nothing but Inchantments, Quarrels, Battles, Challenges, Wounds, Complaints, Amours, and abundance of Stuff and Impossibilities.....

They dont look like the pictures in the books, but I still think they look like cool models in their own right.
The GW ones should be an improvement over this though.
