Not-really-a-dark-eldar-grotesque...

Post by me_in_japan » Sat Dec 18, 2010 8:36 am

Some enterprising indivdual has made this.

http://www.coolminiornot.com/forums/sho ... Bio-Terror

currently in a pre-release state, but will likely be out before the official GW grotesque models are.

Peronally, I rather like it, although I have no intention of going down the 'munc route with my army.

thoughts, folks?

I think it is fantastic. If it is possible to do an army of those, I will. That is a wicked good sculpt.

Looks good.
I'll wait and see what GW have to offer (plastic or metal, expensive or mega-expensive) before I make any purchases. After all the work Jes has put in, it would be a shame to spring for something else just because it was released first.

"Fimo" I have never heard of it. I would like to know a bit more about this.

Fimo is a polymer clay which needs to be kneaded a lot to get the right consistency and then baked in an oven to harden it. You also (apparently) need to be very careful which colour you use (there are many, many colours. A whole rainbow of em) as they vary in hardness/consitency/ability to be cast and so on. Its also more expensive than milliput, which is the main reason I dont use it. You can find it at art stores (in Japan and abroad.)

Sounds like green stuff is still a far better choice then. I guess if you're designing minis professionally its not a bad choice, but the whole oven baking thing seems like a pain. And you couldnt use it on plastic minis.
