I need help
I need help
1) I need something to paint to, usually I am painting best when I need something finished for a tournament with painting requirements.
2) I need someone to paint with, sitting home listening to music and painting is not enough.

Re: I need help
1.) The NagoyaHammer event in May. 1500 point tournament or 500 point team games on day 1. 1500-2000 point games on day 2. You dont need painted models, but all painted models gain Preferred Enemy vs unpainted models.frans wrote:1) I need something to paint to, usually I am painting best when I need something finished for a tournament with painting requirements.

2.) My schedule is full up until the end of Feb. After that I'll be free most weekdays for painting, unless my boss decides that I should go back to the slave mines (English classrooms). I live fairly near your area, 5 minutes by subway or 30 minutes on foot. I have a LOT to paint right now in preparation for NagoyaHammer.
Cheers.

I can sneak out on the occasional evening. Hobby night would be fun.

If you find yourself without someone to paint with I have found that painting while listening to audio books helps. I put all the Black Library audio books on my Mp3 player and have found it to be a big help. I am currently listenign to Prospero Burns. Great stuff to paint too.

That's an interesting idea. I usually plop in Battlestar Galactica or jazz music which I find helps me focus (jazz) or keeps me from getting bored painting the same unit again and again (BSG)Spevna wrote:frans wrote:1) I need something to paint to, usually I am painting best when I need something finished for a tournament with painting requirements.

Re: I need help
I had some plans on painting a new Fantasy army, fixing my deamon hunters to the new codex and to start getting somewhere on my tau.
For the moment there is a lot of Hiragama studies that I need to do.

Re: I need help
I have a lot of stuff to paint and assemble so if you'd like to get together and do hobby stuff that would be nice. I am usually free on weekends. Could help with the Japanese studies too, if you need any.
Re: I need help
All the Sharpe adventures are available as audiobooks, very well read. Also the classic LOTR BBC radio drama from the 80s is a classic especially for painting fantasy models.
Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

Yeah, we were talking about having a hobby day in some distant thread. It would be fun. I'd be up for it for a weekend. Would anyone like to do it sometime?
Audio books are also a great idea to get stuck into the warhammer mood. But I find if I'm painting fantasy battle I have to put on fantasy battle audio books (of which there are only 2 for now: Aenarion - very good but too short and finishes at a pivot cliff hanger) and God king (complete and unabridged, also very good, and the entire reading is about 13 hours long so can keep you painting for a long time), but if I'm painting 40k, its got to one of the 40k audio books.
The cast for it were all theatrical performers so the voicing is spot on.
Think I'll try sharpe next. Anyway, audio books they are great, try it.
