Death Angel

With a name like that, it has to be a 40K property, right?

Probably just about everyone here will have heard about Fantasy Flight's forthcoming Space Hulk cooperative card game (due to be released this summer, apparently), but just in case some folks missed the news. I know I'm going to buy a starter pack - Fantasy Flight makes some really good games.

FFG does produce some nice stuff. I dunno if I'll be buying it, but I'd probably play it if someone brought it to a games day.

Well, I got me copy together with my AT-43 fire sale swag from Fantasy Flight. Nice production values, of course.

I've played a couple solo games (and it does support solo games, which is neat), and it seems to be good fun, if difficult and slightly brutal - there's a bit of a random element, which may displease card game aficionados. It's purely cooperative, with genestealers spawning and moving according to random card draws, and attacking any marines they're in contact with automatically. Each player controls a "combat team" of 2 terminators, which are organized by loose specializations - leadership, shooting, scouting, hand to hand - and each team has a choice of actions particular to it. The marines' objective is basically to survive and annihilate, by depleting the genestealer reserves in a series of locations.

I'll bring it along to Badruck's thing on the 30th (assuming it's happening) and see if there're any takers for a game.

Sounds interesting. I'd be willing to give it a shot.

I would also like to try it... one of my pod casts had half of and episode dedicated to this game... you may want to look and the FAQs there was something in the core rules that did not make any sense.. until it got FAQed...

I've played a couple games and I think I've got the hang of it. The rules aren't really well laid out, it's true - there were a few things that didn't make sense till I played - but they're actually pretty straightforward.

@ The Other Dave - do you have this game? Would you be willing to show me the ropes some time?

@ Primarch - yes I know this was a long dead thread but I am reigniting it.

I do and I would! It's not particularly hard, but is pretty random and very brutal on the marines (as it should be, I suppose).

Cool!

When are you available to play? Is there another day other than the Joshin Day? I have commitments for the next two events there (I may be able to come to the March one but I am not sure...)
