Just to let folks know, I have booked a venue for another big game of Black Powder.
Like last time, this will be a participation game, anyone is welcome to come along and join in. If you have some models, so much the better.

As with the last BP event, we will only be playing one game for the entire day. In this case, a Napoleonic Era confrontation using the Black Powder rules. Players will be assigned teams and forces on the day and will wage war across an epic 6' by 12' table. The doors open at 9 a.m for people who like to get up early and the plan is to start playing around 10 a.m.

Knowledge of the period is not vital and models will be provided for players who don't have them, but want to play. All you will need is a tape measure (in inches), and a handful of 6 sided dice. Of course, if you have a suitable collection of Napoleonic minis, please bring those along as well, be they British, French, Russian, Prussian, Austrian or some minor European power. Ideally models should be based and painted, but this isn't essential. Ikeda-san over at Town Crier has a limited stock of suitable minis if you want to bring some along. The standard size for units is 24 minis for infantry, 12 for cavalry and 1 gun plus crew for artillery, though these figures are fairly flexible, so if you have a different number it is fine.

Entrance is 100% free this time around. You'll just need to sort out travelling to the event and some lunch/drinks throughout the day.

The games will be held in Meeting Rooms 1 and 2 of the Nagoya City Lifelong Learning Center located near to Kanayama in Nagoya City. (Its about 10-15 mins walk from the place we used for NagoyaHammer this year).
From Kanayama station take the Meijo Loop line clockwise to the next station, Higashi Betsuin. From Nagoya Station take the Higashiyama Line to Sakae and transfer to the Meijo Loop line anti-clockwise for 3 stations.
At Higashi Betsuin, go out of Subway Exit 1 and go straight ahead. You will cross over a small side street and see a green bridge on your right and a Pink-ish building on your left. Keep going straight and you will come to an orange coloured brick tower and the Nagoya City Women's Center. The Lifelong Learning Center is the next building. It has a glass front and a circular front entrance. Its about 1 minute walk from the subway station. Go in through the front door and the rooms are on the left.

@Lovejoy - Sadly the venue closes early on Sundays, so Saturday is the most convenient day to do this.

As promised, a scenario.

Following the Battle of Est L'église, the victrious Anglo-French army had routed the Coalition force sent to exploit the alleged gap in the lines of the alliance. Unleashing the allied cavalry upon the fleeing troops, the allies took many prisoners and captured most of the enemy baggage train. As night fell, the coalition withdrew what forces it had left in the area whilst the allies consolidated their position and looked to their own wounded.

However, the Coalition had no shortage of manpower and the allied high command knew that it would only be a matter of time before battle would be joined again. The French marshals, known for their aggressive tactics pushed for a follow up strike on the retreating Russians and Austrians. To the surprise of the British officers present, Wellington concurred with his French counterparts. By destroying the remnants of the veteran Russian and Austrian division before they could link up with the rest of their forces, the Coalition would be forced to deploy less seasoned troops in further engagements.

Scouts reported that the Coalition troops had fallen back to a town known as Grez-Doiceau on the banks of a tributary of Djile river in central Belgium. There they were setting up positions to defend the town, fortifying the buildings and awaiting reinforcements. Advancing with as much haste as they could muster, the allied forces headed for Grez-Doiceau. Setting up their central command and supply base in the nearby city of Wavre, the allies formed up their troops ready for the assault.

Meanwhile, word had reached the Coalition generals of what had transpired when their assault division fell into Wellington's carefully baited trap. Gathering what forces they could, the Coalition set off to relieve their division and crush the French tyrants and the upstart general who had thrown their plans into disarray. Advancing quickly across the low countries, the Coalition troops had only to cross the Djile and they would smash into the flank of the allied forces.

Anyone else planning to come?

Will we be using the rules from the new AT2? Things like the new French and British rules? Or the suggestions for square rules?

Also, do you need our order of battle?

If you want me to sort out unit ID cards like we had last time, then yes, I would like to know what you are bringing.
The new square rules are probably a good idea as they effect everyone. Similarly, the rules for artillery can be used by everyone. The British 4 deep line and column of companies aren't really necessary. The Marshals Baton rule is probably also best kept for pick up games as I guess we wont be playing with random characteristics again this time. (As this will only be the second game for the majority of players). The cavalry attack column makes sense though as it can be used by both sides.
