Not for this event I'm afraid. The entire event is limited to one FOC per player regardless of points level etc. No allies, formations or the like either. It keeps things nice and simple. Ideally you will be partnered with a random person from your team (therefore only using 1000 points), but if you do play solo, then you have the benefit of putting down a coherent force compared to your opponents.
If you play 40K on the Friday, you are free to throw down whatever takes your fancy of course.

...That reminds me, I must start a thread about 40K on Friday sometime soon.

Looking forward to seeing you there. I never got the chance to get my ass kicked by you and your pointy ears last year. :D

A quick question: before I go ahead and book a hotel, can someone (ie Prim) confirm that the second night is when we'll be going out for drinks? I'm back from NZ (well, kinda - I'm in narita) and am thinking to get my ass in gear re hotels.

Ta in advance :)

Having discussed this a bit with Pikey, I think the drinks might have to be on Friday night. Logistics wise, everyone is going to be carrying big bags full of minis and I am going to have to shift all of the terrain before I can go out boozing. Nothing stopping people from going out on the Saturday though, but I think I'll be organising the 'official' drinks on the Friday.

That is totally mega sad news :( darn and heck and suchlike :( Naghammer is the one time I can get out of the house overnight for fun and drinks and suchlike. I was totally looking forward to that :(

Glumglumglum :(

I'll still be there for the games on Saturday, but if there won't be drinks on Saturday night there's no point in me booking a hotel.

Glum :(

Note: I'm not being glum at people per se, just at the injustice of a universe that foists such situations upon me.

Well, if you're glum about it we probably won't take you out, either. :D Hell, I'm planning on getting pissed both nights! :D Heck, why stop at daytime? Let's brownbag the tournie! :D

My concern with Friday night drinking would be that the main event is on Saturday, and being hungover seems better for a few relaxing games on the "alternate games day" rather than before the main event. Maybe Thursday would be better, or everyone could help Prim clean up on Saturday night?

But as I tend not to go to such things, my opinion probably shouldn't count for much in this matter!

Righty - taking Prim's eminently sensible advice I have now officially booked a hotel room for Friday the 2nd May, so there had better be some drinkin' going on that evening. (actually, the booze itself, while welcome, isnt entirely the point. As long as folks are around for a good night out, food, etc, then I shall be a happy camper.) Should our jolly outing be rescheduled to some other time, I shall be seeking out the perpetrator with a view to extracting 6,600 yen in pre-paid hotel fees from em...

looking forward to a good night out :D

Note: I will be at work that day, so I'll be cutting it very fine to get up to Nagoya at anything approaching 9pm. I'll do me best, but if folks (ie Prim) could stay within reach of their ketai on the night it'd be appreciated.

Remeber vomiting on your opponents is a good way to force a forfeit from them. Of course, any Nurgle player knows that. :D
