For the Overlord game in October, there are a lot of things we need to have for the game. Terrain, minis, dice, order dice, tape measures etc. are all essentials. However, there are a few things we could use for the game that would just be nice to have. As and when I think of things, I'll add them to this list. If people feel like making something suitable for use on the day, that would be fantastic.
Objective markers.
We'll probably need at least 5 objective markers minimum on the day. Something that can show that the objective is held by either axis or allied forces, (Flags? Double sided markers?) would be good.
Entry Point markers.
Some markers to show where reinforcements will enter the board. We will have eight forces entering, so eight markers would be helpful. These can be generic axis/allies or if you feel up to it, divisional markers would be great. We have the British Airborne Division, US Airborne (not sure if 82nd or 101st yet), British 50th Infantry Division, US 1st Division, (I think...), 21st Panzer Division, 6th Fallschirmjager Division, Panzer Lehr Division and the 12th SS Hitlerjugend Division.
We may also need separate markers for British Commandos and US Rangers, depending on how we decide to do deployment for them.

Re: Overlord - Modelling opportunities
Has anyone had a crack at making any terrain or markers yet?
We will have an area of approximately 96 square feet to cover with terrain. If anyone can help out with this, that would be great. We are in need of:
Houses, (I'm hoping to put a couple of towns and farms on the table)
Hedges & Fences,
Roads (wide enough for two tanks abreast),
Woods,
Hills,
Scatter Terrain (a checkpoint, some sandbags, roadsigns, a command bunker, barrels, carts etc).
Take a look on google for some ideas.
The more everyone pitches in, the better the game is going to look.
