NH2019 - To be or not to be?

Post by Primarch » Wed Aug 01, 2018 10:32 pm

As some of you may (or may not) be aware, I'm currently stuck doing 'voluntary' work for my town's community group. Next year, it is highly likely that I will be continuing to 'volunteer', but in a more responsible position. There are more meetings to attend, especially in Spring (Woo!) and the schedule won't be arranged until February or March (Yay!).

Clearly this is inconvenient at best for me, but what it means for you fine forumites is that I cannot reasonably make plans for April/May of next year, specifically NagoyaHammer.

This leaves only 2 possible courses for the road ahead.

Either:
A - We don't have NagoyaHammer next year.
Or:
B - Someone else steps up and organizes everything.

It's very far from ideal, but that is the way things are currently looking.
Thoughts?

Ugh, that sucks - hopefully eventually you can build up enough "volunteer capital" with the community group that you can bow out or at least dial your participation down to a non-disruptive level. Knock on wood.

That said, yeah, I can step up! (*gulp*)

Thank you!

After next year, everything should finish and it won't be my turn for another 10-15 years I hope.

I'll explain the booking process and what have you next time I see you. Nothing will really happen until October when the room becomes available to reserve.

All hail ToD, Saviour of NagoyaHammer!

Hail ToD! Thank you.

However if you need a hand with anything I'd like to volunteer.

Hail ToD!

And thank you to both him and Prim. Wouldn’t be Naghammer without the two of you.

Aw, I'm just some guy.  I'll do my best!

I do have some... thoughts? Strongly-held opinions? About how the 40K day might be run, but I'll float some ideas with folks in person and do some thinking and start a thread in due course. (Nothing fancy! Just about time and game sizes and such, so don't get too worried, heh.)
