Wood Elves and Tomb Kings eh? Thats a strange and unlikely combination of armies to collect.....Tenorikuma wrote:Yeah, even if there's no price advantage it can be fun to mix in non-GW stuff, although I really blew it with some Privateer models I bought to use as Tree Kin alternatives, only to discover they were to small and weird-looking in real life to use. Some of the places that have genuinely nice Wood Elfy stuff like CoolMiniOrNot only do limited edition runs that cost far more than GW.
I'm thinking of starting a secondary army — Tomb Kings — for some painting and theme variety. Quite a few of the models don't even exist yet, so they have to be bought elsewhere or kit-bashed, but there is really nothing suitable out there with a fantasy Egyptian theme. Some outfit called Crocodile has a line up with a few things that might be usable, but most of it's too silly-looking.
Funnily enough, my preference is leaning more and more to the opposite these days.me_in_japan wrote:The trick is to play GW games with non-GW models.
