@MiJ Happy Birthday mate, I wish you a great day.

I just cancelled my previous order with Wayland and they refunded me.
The reason was because they had written on their site that the items which I ordered were in stock, while they actually werent. They explained to me that it was because of their backlog that they experienced some months ago and it was still playing havoc with their stock levels. If I had not checked my order status on my account page regularly then I would probably have to wait many more weeks for my order to get here.

quick update. The order I placed at Wayland a week or so ago, when everything was in stock, still hasnt shipped. Reason: awaiting stock.

not impressed, chaps :(

maelstrom still havent shipped, but the stuff wasnt listed as in stock when I ordered it. This, I have no problem with.

*edit* and everything i ordered is still listed as in stock on their shopping pages. email time, methinks...

*2nd edit* a bit of digging on the wayland site shows me that "awaiting stock" means one of two things:

1) actually awaiting stock
2) in a packing queue.

they go on to ask people not to inquire about "awaiting stock" status on their orders.

clear as mud, no?

Do any of you guys order and pay by British Pounds? And do you use a billing address in the UK and have the stuff sent to Japan?

I just use my wife's credit card and pay in yen. The exchange rate just now is far too good to do otherwise. (it is currently about 125 yen for 1 quid. A few years ago it was 250 yen for 1 quid.) Also, walking into a post office and sending a package in the UK is hellish expensive. To get a box sent direct to me from Wayland costs about 3quid. To have it sent to my parents would be free, but then my parents would have to pay about 10 quid to have it sent to me. No point in doing that, really.

*edit* I have in the past bought stuff from wayland on my own (British) credit card, which has a billing address in the UK, and had stuff sent here with no problems.

I might have to do what you do above.

Wayland sent my stuff to my US billing address, but I am unsure if they are just going to leave me with the cost of shipping it again. They left it very unclear in their email. :?

I send money home and pay with a UK card. Then stuff gets sent direct to me in Japan, it has never been a problem.

@ Job - If you told them to ship it to Japan and not your billing address then it is their fault and they should pay the extra costs. If you didnt then they wont pay a penny. (I guess).

Hi Joseph,
As this was not an error in the shipping, you would be liable for postage costs - the original order was shipped to the address that was registered when payment was made.

We have in the past had little trouble with separate addresses. However, some bad experiences on our part, along with the confirmation that we are not covered for insurance in these events by the carrier services, has forced us to make changes in shipping policy.

For future reference, if you are placing an order to go to yourself in Japan, please try to use a payment method that is registered to yourself there.
However, if this is not possible, then raise a helpdesk ticket when you place the order, referencing this ticket, and we will do our best to accomodate your needs, seeing as you are a repeat customer of ours...

Best Regards,
Adam
Well, I am certain that the shipment was requested to Japan, but I think they flubbed when they had to "redo" my order after they actually had no stock of a product they marked "in stock". (The original reason I ordered now was I was hoping to get an out of production BF product.)

So this has been a decidedly mixed experience with Wayland. I can't say I'll be returning to them. Other sites never brought this up. :( I thought I should warn others, just in case.
