The image that formed in my head from this is one of you sheepishly looking over your shoulder to see your wife standing there with her arms crossed, glaring at you.
:o actually, my wife is verra understanding of my miniature spending. She has never once said "no, i dont think you should get that", even when I asked her about a phantom titan... (i had no intention of getting one, mind, I was just testing her reaction...)

I would just like to add that I nivver sed nuffink about Forge World. Their prices havent changed (WAS: Expensive, NOW: Expensive), and they still happily ship overseas. I know buying their stuff funds GW indirectly, but lets face it, if FW start outselling GW, then even GW will have to realise theyve done something wrong.

http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/New_Stuff/D ... EAPER.html

ooohehehe. Where's my "things I want on FW models" list...

aha

1) can operate in units of 1: check
2) less than 40 quid: check
3) comes with all the bits: check
4) goes swoosh: double check
5) honking great gun: definitely check

In fact, Im not so keen on the gun, but the mega sails and little hull blades on the side sell it to me. I shall be picking one up forthwith. In fact, since my birthday is at the end of July, maybe I should hang fire and get someone else to buy it for me...decisions decisions...

@pikey: I've got my beady eye on you. dont even think of using this as "MiJ backtracks" evidence - at no point did I say I was going to stop buying FW. Some may have assumed I intended a blanket boycott of all GW related products, but that was never the case. GW's own minis: no buy. FW stuff, black library books, paint, etc: ok to buy. (not that I buy GW paint anymore anyway - Vallejo and P3 are better, colour wise, i reckon)

ha!

clearly, in the absence of any decent evidence to bolster his case, pikey-kun has decided to paraphrase ol Billy in an attempt to seem credible :P

NEWSFLASH:

This just in. Charlie Sheen has given up drugs. He still does Coke, Meth, Ecstacy and Pot but he doesn't shoot up with black tar heroin anymore. Clean as a whistle.
Winning! :D :D :D

P.S. The above is an outrageous lie.

The indictment was against MIJ and the Madmiral for wanton about-facing.

No one ever accused you of anything Spev. Mind you, there are rumours swirling round the interests that your first finecast minis are on their way via Royal Mail along with Prim's Draco Chickens, and some snake nipples that I ordered a while back. :D :D :D

I know mate. It was more of an affirmation rather than me refuting anything.

We will have to start calling MiJ and the Madmiral the Flip-Floppers.

steady on there, chaps. Just cos y'all made a baseless assumption that I'd blacklisted FW along with GW dont make me a flip flopper of any kind. Go on - dredge the last 30 odd pages of this thread and try and find where I said I wasnt going to buy any FW stuff. You wont be able to, yknow, cos I didnt say it. I aint buying any more GW stuff (bar small print, blahblah) cos their prices and shipping policy offend me. FW, on the other hand, have been pretty consistent. They sell pricey minis, yes, but those prices havent changed too much. the more GW put their prices up, the more appealing FW looks. You'll note that FW prices have not increased of late, even the ones with plastic GW parts.

To continue Pikeroo's (rather weak  ) analogy of addiction, my Spevna Stance (MiJ Variant, TM, pat pending)) is rather like quitting chain smoking 30 cigs a day, and instead, buying the occasional cigar on special occasions, say, a couple times a year.

PS - Not to totally change the subject, but having watched most of the Aragorn Marks tut about sculpting (verra educational), Im about to embark upon watching the Miniature Mentor tutorial of painting this daemon.

http://www.arcaneminiatures.co.uk/minia ... p?ID=33587

Is that model pure aces or what? I totally want one.

*sigh*

Yes Good Dave, I know, save it for the birthday
Be quiet, Bad Dave! Of course they wont go out of business, leaving me wishing Id bought it
Thank you Good Dave, you're quite right. Restraint in all things is the measure of a gentleman
No! Bad Dave - Dont click that!

oh dear...
