theyve hired Steve Buddle
http://www.spyglassminiatures.com/
incidentally, the person who now has the rights to the Spyglass minis is Heresy Andy, so if you want some rather nice role playing type figs, you'll find em on the (shiny and new) Heresy website.

Showing my ignorance a bit here but,
Er...who? Which company is that now? Is he the new MD or something, cos if not, dont expect any major changes in GW.

who said we were expecting major changes? He's just a bloody good sculptor, is all. He actually already did some freelance stuff for them, back in the day. He does very well proportioned figs, particularly women (and by that I mean actually really realisticall proportioned women. GW seem to struggle with this kind of thing,) so his input as a full time sculptor should hopefully nudge GW away from cartoony style and towards a more Juan Diaz/Jes Goodwin type of thing.

You want GW models to look like Jes Goodwin did them? Er....
Fair do's. I'd never heard of the guy so I wondered what the deal was.

Juan Diaz is a GW sculptor too, btw. he did most of the current eldar, believe it or not. I almost (almost!) prefer him to Goodwin sometimes. He certainly does a more dynamic model. He did a fair few of the dark eldar, too (Hesperax, for example)
Which is a good example of the type of sculpt im talking about - realistically proportioned (trim, as opposed to top-heavy) and muscly without uber-arms n thighs. Clearly Diaz and Goodwin cant sculpt GWs entire range by themselves, so having another decent sculptor on board will help to raise the bar for GW minis. This is a good thing, in my opinion.

I have to say "me_in_Japan", you know your sculptors and your preferences in an out. I'm sure it will be good thing. Really good if it means more Dwarf/CSM stuff.
