Warlord Order

Post by Primarch » Thu Jul 19, 2012 6:05 am

There are a few bits and pieces I am thinking of ordering from Warlord Games and I was wondering if anyone else was after anything.
I figure that if we can get a decent sized order together we can ask Ikeda san to get it for us through his shop. He is interested in stocking their products, but isn't sure if there is enough interest to make it worthwhile. Rather than people making piecemeal orders from Warlord direct, it would be nice to show him that there is interest in him stocking their products.

If anyone wants to order stuff, please let me know in the next week or so.

P.

Cheers for talking to Ikeda about this and stirring up interest. What with BA on the horizon a few WWII vehicles might be in order, sadly nobody seems to know what's safe to buy at the moment. If I can work out what armour/cars might be useful (not easy to tell at the moment) I'll be happy to pick up some stuff through him.

I think that you can pretty much get away with any of the common stuff. From what I have read, the game runs to about 50ish infantry with a couple of vehicles in support. In other words, order what you think looks cool, but avoid getting a squadron of Tigers.

In a shameless attempt to bump this thread back to the top of the new thread lists, here are some examples of what you can order from Warlord:

Hail Caesar - Ancients to Medieval ruleset
The Conquest of Gaul - Romans, Celts and a nice rulebook. An attractive looking starter set for Hail Caesar.
Celts, Romans, Macedonians, Greeks, Ancient Britons, Persians, Assyrians and more.

Pike and Shotte - A ruleset covering the English Civil War, the Thirty Years War and more.
For King and Country - A starter set containing the P&S rulebook and a bunch of infantry and cavalry.
Cavaliers, Roundheads, Scots, Swedes, the Imperial Alliance and more.

Black Powder - Rules for the age of the musket, about 1700 - 1900.
Napoleonics - Warlord currently produce Prussians, Russians and they are working on some French too.
The Anglo-Zulu War - A minor conflict on the global scale, but with a great visual appeal. A couple of army box deals are available to get you started.

Bolt Action - The rules are set for a September release, covering WW2 in a 28mm scale skirmish game. (Similar in terms of model count to 40K I guess).
Currently they have a massive range of models covering Russians, Germans, French, British, Americans, Japanese, Polish and Italians.

Please note that whilst Ikeda san can probably order Victrix and Perrys minis through Warlord, he probably wont get much in the way of discount, so Warlord's own ranges would be a cheaper choice. :D

Well.....looks like I was wrong. Warlord just sent me their price list for trade deals. Looks like Ikeda san should be able to order the following models:

Victrix (plastic sets only)
Perrys (plastic sets only)
Sodapop (Some anime inspired mecha goodness)
Super Dungeon Explore (never played it, but Ennui used to rave about it)
Architects of War (28mm terrain. V.nice, but a tad expensive)
River Horse Games (Alessio Cavatore's Shuro. Basically chess with points values)
Forgecraft Bases (Some very nice looking resin bases)
Army Painter (The DIP and their regular paint line. No Aerosols though).

The margins on these items and the margins on books are not as good as they are being re-sold through warlord or just cost more to produce, so I wouldn't expect much, if any discount. I will talk to Ikeda san about how much he will be charging us, as that still hasn't been fully decided yet. :D

For anyone wanting to partake in this order, I will be happy to pay the cash to Ikeda san upfront and then folks can pay me back as and when the models get delivered to them.

Must resist urge to check 'one of everything please' on the order form.

Sadly the army sets are generally Warlord Direct offers only. The models are usually available in individual boxes and blisters, but WG tend to have a number of offers up on their site at any given time that you have to get from their site and nowhere else.
