Do any of you have experience with small claims court?
I know it's unlikely, but I was wondering if anyone here (particularly around Nagoya) has had experience with filing small claim suits in court.

One of the companies I do translation for hasn't paid me for nearly a year and owes me quite a bit, and I'm not sure what other avenue I have at this point.

Blimey Charlie. That sounds pretty rough. Hmmm. Assuming you've done all the sensible things like email/call/pestered the crap outta them, I guess court is all you've got. If you've got documentation to prove what you're owed there can't really be much of an opposition to your claim, I would've thought. Good luck with it. Here's hoping all goes smoothly.

I believe Asch teaches law. You may want to ask him for advice?

Check out the Nagoya International Center. I've heard they have "talk to a lawyer in English" days as one of their services.

Talk-to-a-lawyer-day, the least celebrated of all national holidays, closely followed by Gotta-call-my-accountant-day.Konrad wrote:Check out the Nagoya International Center. I've heard they have "talk to a lawyer in English" days as one of their services.
