New Year's Resolutions - 2013 Edition

Post by Primarch » Tue Jan 01, 2013 7:54 am

Hey folks,
Well, it's that time of year again when we make wild promises and pledges to ourselves.

Last year I promised to stop buying models. I didn't quite achieve that, but I did buy less than in previous years.

This year I am keeping things simple and easy to achieve.

Prim's Resolution 2013:
To do what I enjoy and to enjoy what I do.
Painted Minis in 2014: 510, in 2015: 300, in 2016 :369, in 2019: 417, in 2020: 450

Build and move into a new house
Have 2nd child (as yet unconfirmed)
Paint the basic set for Battle for Alabaster
Use said set a few times
Build my GDJ 2014 diorama
Paint my GDJ 2014 single mini
Play a bit of 40k, Malifaux and warmahordes
Paint up the rest of my nurglies
Not buy into any more kickstarters (unless they're really good)
current (2019) hobby interests
eh, y'know. Stuff, and things

Wow. And then Corona happened. Just....crickets, all the way through to 2023...

Hmmm... I'm just glad I can't recall last year's resolutions. The biggest issue with talking about these things on a forum is that they are posted on here to be recalled. (Given that you don't edit them at the end of January or so. :D )

Paint up the models in my collections. (Principally 40k models, finishing up the FOW models, get some heroes and gyrocoptors painted for fantasy and then consider an epic army. There's also the question of Napoleonic additions.)

Be more careful about additions this year. Maybe even consider shaving the collection in some places.

Work on reading more.

Travel more.

Bicycle more.

Buy my wife more flowers. :)

Try to get permission for a video game system. (Ah, maybe that's a stretch. :D )

Paint and work on primary armies for FoW, Warmahordes, Warhammer 40k/fantasy
Actually play games with said armies!
Hide Jobs artillery and challenge him to a game without Time on Target hitting my tanks!

Solution: Buy an American/Allied army and make me run around with German tanks. :D

Seriously, I like your resolutions. Very realistic!

What was last years?

Well 2012 I was only going to buy gaming models from ikeda and other gamers I know. This year I will try and do that again.

As far as painting and modelling go I will do what I can to paint what I have. The Orks really need help but bit by bit they are getting there.

My Portuguese is much better than last year but still has a way to go. I guess I need to take a class in Japanese now.

As for gaming I want to play as much 40k and cutlass as I can. If anyone wants a game of either. Come on by and play me.

Happy New Year Japan gamers. ;)

My resolution hobby wise is to enjoy the hobby on a social footing rather than as addiction. Only play once a month. :)

My personal resolutions: Take a weekly Japanese class and enjoy life more at my pace.
In with fear out with love. :)

Happy Gaming.

Oh I made this vid on my youtube channel for the rpg troupe. Hope you guys are inspired or at least entertained. See you in March I hope for some RPG.
