Won my court case…

Post by Tenorikuma » Tue Jan 15, 2013 2:37 am

The company that stiffed me didn't even show up to defend their case, so I won a default judgment. (And to think I spent all day Monday photocopying and collating paperwork to present as evidence.)

They had not even the honour to show themselves. Fiends and hooligans!

Well done Tenorikuma! :D

Winning by default is still winning. Congratulations.
Obviously the company realised that they didn't have a leg to stand on and decided to save their time and effort and not show up. Still a shame that they let things go so far.

Well done, mate! As prim says, their not turning up is indicative of their understanding the futility of fighting their case. One can only hope this kind of thing teaches them (and other companies) not to try to rip off their employees. Regardless, it's great that you were able to stand up for yourself and that justice was done. A tip of the hat to you for fighting the good fight, and, for a change, to the Japanese legal system for allowing you to win.

@worf - darn tootin' they did.

Credit where credit is due: the courthouse clerks were really helpful, and our own Asch gave me some advice as well.

In all seriousness, that's great news. Congrats. Hopefully you'll now get what you're owed.
