Quick question for anyone who has a PC. (Not one of those Apple wannabes).
Did you buy a PC in Japan with an English operating system?
And if so, where from?

I don't know if they do it anymore but direct order from Toshiba and you could get anEnglish OS instead of a Japanese.

I have brought a couple here in Japan. One from the defunct Gateway and one from Eiden. With the latter I used Windows Ultimate to change the O/S language.

That said, I believe Goodwill (?) in Osu and possibly now Bic Camera in Mei-eki stock export models. I think Dell can also do PCs with English OS.

What are you after a Desktop, All-in-one or Laptop?

Grim Fandango once told me you could get them at Goodwill or Dos Para in Osu, but that was a while ago.

Turns out that Windows 8 can be changed into any language you like for free, so I just bought a new machine with Windows 8. Should be delivered in the middle of next week.
