The Best of 2010

Post by Mike the Pike » Thu Dec 16, 2010 6:27 am

Apologies to BOLS for blatantly stealing their idea...

I give to you, dear readers the first annual Nagoya Hammer Readers Choice Awards.
What do you folks think are the best products Games Workshop, Privateer Press, Battlefront etc have released this year in the Metal Miniatures, Plastic Miniatures, and Rules/Armybook categories?

So copy and paste the following categories with your vote and any comments.

Best Metal-Resin Miniature 2010:
Best Plastic Miniature 2010:
Best Rulebook/Armybook 2010:

 The only real rule is that it has to have been released in 2010.

Best Metal-Resin Miniature 2010: DE Lelith Hesperax (sp). What an amazing dynamic model! As many of you know I have a thing for strong female characters and LH only reinforces this.

Best Plastic Miniature 2010: The DE Wych kit. Great models/poses etc. Great variety. Good interchangeability.

Best Rulebook/Armybook 2010: The 8th Edition WFB book. Apart from the power scroll, I haven't heard too many complaints about these rules. IMHO it made 7 Ed. Hero hammer into 8 ed. Grunthammer. It's really nice to see so many bods on the table. The full version really is a tome too, none of this pocket size, paperback rubbish.

What say you savages?

hmmn.

best metal/resin model: The heresy dragon. Its the best dragon miniature in the world. I think that's saying something.

best plastic kit: Dark eldar raider. Bit finicky to put together, but has lots of options, and veritably screams "whoooosh" when you look at it.

best book: Warmachine Mk II rulebook. easy to use, well organised, and the rules themselves are very intuitive.

additional category: best model ive bought this year: Wolfen Worg waning moon. Fantastic model. very happy with it.
current (2019) hobby interests

Best Resin/Metal Model - The Showgirls boxed set for Malifaux. Particularly Colette DuBois. Very dainty and feminine.
Best Plastic Kit - Trygon. Its big, gribbly and almost dang near puts itself together for you.
Best Rulebook - I'd like to say Malifaux Rising Powers, but I'm going to have to go with Imperial Armour 9. Its the first IA book that I have bought and read cover to cover and I am eagerly awaiting the next book.
Painted Minis in 2014: 510, in 2015: 300, in 2016 :369, in 2019: 417, in 2020: 450

Resin- I dig the Mandrake...
Plastic Kit- I think the best kit are the War hammer Trolls...
Rule Book- I will go with War-hammer 8th ed... it is took a wiz on tournament players but I like the new rules lots more streamlined..
