Re: Hobby Shop Town Crier - Now open in Nagoya
Just a quick heads up. Town Crier will be closed Sept. 2nd.
Any of you wanting to grab one of the new 40K starter sets will have to do it today or wait till next week.

Ikeda san at Town Crier asked me to pass on a message to everyone. This Sunday (March 11th, 2013) he is offering a special discount for GW products. Warhammer 40K is 40% off and Warhammer Fantasy is 35% off.
Here's the catch, his shop will be closed for most of the day as he is running an introduction event for new players. To get the discount you will have to either:
A) Pop in to the event (Its at the womens center/lifelong learning center that we use for most of the NagoyaHammer events)
or
B) Email him. He has recently changed his cell phone email address, so if you need it, please PM me and I will pass it on.
Only orders made on SUNDAY will be eligible for the discounted rate.

Hey, Prim. Thanks for the heads up on this. I think I'll use this opportunity to get the flyer.Primarch wrote:Ikeda san at Town Crier asked me to pass on a message to everyone. Could you pass on that I would like to buy the Dark Talon? I don't know Ikeda's new email and contact info.
Cheers.

40% off you say?? Very tempting. Does it cover 40K terrain as well?

Re: Hobby Shop Town Crier - Now open in Nagoya
I went to Town Crier today to speak to Ikeda san.
Apparently he can no longer order GW products. When I asked him why, he explained that they have changed their policy regarding partnership and non-partnership stores.
The previous set up was that Ikeda san could order most products for his store, but not everything. The new policy means that he can only order this month's releases. At the end of the month, those items go into the partnership store only category. Partnership stores can pretty much order whatever they like.
To become a partnership store, Ikeda sam has to pay a very large sum of money to buy a display stand and several starter boxes and other big sellers.
I would suggest that anyone who has outstanding orders with him, visit him in his shop or call/email him for a refund. He called me last weekend, so it looks like his phone is working again. (PM me if you need the number).
Ikeda san is currently able to order Warlord and Forge World products in and is looking at trying to find some new manufacturers to stock/order as well.

Hum.
1) ikeda-San really needs to tell his customers these things himself.
2) GW. Odd, odd company. I mean seriously, what other company makes it so fricking difficult for customers to buy their products? And then insults them by charging near double what the product costs overseas? Very odd, I say.

Hm. I suppose this might explain why I still haven't got my single box of Tyranid Warriors I ordered and paid for in March.
Edit to add, in response to MiJ's second point: Perhaps not a very nice thing to say, but I think it's entirely reasonable that shops like Ikeda-san's are the reason GW is withdrawing support from shops like Ikeda-san's...
