Changes to the site.

Post by Primarch » Tue Feb 28, 2012 3:16 am

In the next few days, expect to see the banner ad at the bottom of the forums disappear.
I received an email this morning from the owners of the affiliation banner saying that my account had been put on hold as they were unhappy with a comment I made. (The comment has since been deleted, but basically it was me implying that pushing a product that was about to become obsolete was not the most honourable way to do business).
Long story short, they were willing to let us keep the affiliation if the comment was removed. I decided to remove the comment, but to sever all ties with the affiliated company as the amount of negative feedback they have generated and my own dealings with them just make me disinclined to continue putting sales their way.
I wish them all the best in the future, but from now on, this forum will be free of advertising.

Fair enough. I have no particular ill feeling towards the company of which you speak, but equally, Ive had similar experiences to you when dealing with them. I'm actually kinda surprised they keep such a close check on us. As you say - best of luck to them in future, but for now, sayonara.

Wow really. I'm sure GW keep tabs on this forum as well. Hence why Hiroshima got a mention on their site but we didn't. Remember all that time ago last year when I complained to Jervis in letter about being refused a game in the store? Well I said that we support and buy their products all the time in Nagoya Japan and mentioned this forum as a reference.
So will you lose money from not having their ad? What did you say about them? Just that they were slow on postage? :?:

With all the GW hate on this forum it might be better if they did not know we exist.

Yeah, they might send in a brute squad of Ogres to take our toys away.
And I'm suprised the "affiliated company" took the care to check on our rantings close enough to catch one negative comment. Must be a search robot that narrows it down.
