It's definitely a step in the right direction, though the uses for it are limited by the fact that the object being 'locked' has to be kept at liquid nitrogen temperatures to maintain it's superconductivity. If they could make it cheap and affordable you could run mag-lev trains with it very quickly and very smoothly. Sadly that wont be happening until we can get a hold of a room temperature superconductor such as unobtainium. Sadly Jake Sully, the species traitor, made that impossible for now.
