Blimey Charlie - the suit itself is very nice, but damn! That power fist is a hella work of engineering. Very impressive indeed. Major nerd kudos to that man!

Wow. :o  Amazing.

Now I fully expect GW to hit him with a lawsuit and attempt to claim power suits are their intellectual property rights.

@ Frans: That is a pretty chill and awesome tournament. I expect Prim is going to have to step up his game and allow people to crash in his living room now. :D

Believe it or not, they actually have a whole section on costumes on their legal page, and it essentially boils down to "don't sell it, but otherwise knock yourself out."

If this is what some dude came up with in his garage can you imagine what kind of stuff a military company could come up with. Real power armour could be just around the bend.

Weeeeeeell, there's a significant difference between a fibreglass shape that looks like armor and actual, yknow, armour. The difference becomes especially critical when some bugger is actually shooting at you...

But Dave's point still stands.

Comparing a power armour costume with actual, possible power armour is not the same as comparing what the Wright brothers flew at Kitty Hawk with a modern fighter jet.

One is purely cosmetic, possible power armour would not be.

The Wright brothers' first plane, while basic and not that great, did actually work.

I would say that the basic problem is to find a material that is reasonable light and can stop a 5.56 bullet.
