I'm also of the "This is so stupid it's cool" mindset. So long as they make some effort to join the parts together some how, I am sure it will be a big hit amongst the demographic of me.
I rather like bizarre movies personally. If you havent seen it, there is a Japanese movie called "The Happiness of the Katakuris" ('katakuri-ke no koufuku' in Nihongo). No-one I know has ever seen it, but I promise you it is the greatest movie made in this fine country. If I had to describe it I would call it a Romance-Horror-Family-Musical-Zombie-Disaster-Extravaganza.
Bizarre movies are cool so long as they clearly intend to be so from the get go.

I haven't seen 300 or Watchmen. I didnt think much of the Watchmen comic (But this is excellent) and I have just never got around to watching 300.

Also, why make this thread purposely ambiguous? Why not just state what it's for?
What would you have named this thread? Writing "SuckerPunch" as the threads title would've had little or no meaning as nobody, as you can see, has ever heard of this movie before. I think the title of the thread is clear enough. It's a thread about what could be the coolest movie ever. How is that ambiguous?

While I can understand not liking 300 for being a little over the top (I personally liked it and being over the top was the whole point of the movie) I have to wonder as to your actual taste in movies as Watchmen was excellent in every respect.

The script was almost word for word a reproduction of the comic and the comic itself was deemed good enough by it's peers to win a Hugo Award and it was the only graphic novel to appear in Time's 2005 "All-TIME 100 Greatest Novels" list.

The actors all gave good performances, certainly no better or worse than anyone on 300.

The special effects were very well done and the movie had a strong and unique visual image.
Of course I could be wrong
I'm pretty sure you will be.

Ha. The first half of that clip looked like a very sick Monty Python skit. You should definitely give Happiness of the Katakuri's a try though.

New trailer!

http://www.wired.com/underwire/2010/11/ ... h-trailer/

Looks like pure eye candy in the vein of 300 and Watchmen, but when that's combined with schoolgirl uniforms and 15-foot-tall samurai robots with chainguns, how can that possibly be a bad thing?

I stand by what I said at the start. That trailer has left me so excited you could cut glass with my nipples. Anyone not impressed by this should just hand in their nads right now and start wearing pretty floral print dresses.

Do we really need to distinguish between what games people play?

Anyway, the new trailer does indeed look awesome. I will be heading to the theatres to watch this one. :D

But I have to wait till March?
