For me when I want to play using imagination I play rpg or a board game. Wargaming is great for a straight battle but if you go expecting the fluff to work itself as you play you will always feel let down.

Exactly, with for example 40k wargaming the fluff does not come unless you pay attention to it while playing.
That is why I want to promote that way of playing, less quantity and more quality games with story to them.
