+1 to that! In most companies I have worked at, the head office staff were totally out of touch with the staff elsewhere in the firm and had little idea how the day to day business was actually done. (coughNovacough).

I found it interesting what he had to say about Mantic though. He said he had met them (on his day off) at a gaming convention and that they came across as an arrogant bunch of Tankers.

Thanks Lads,

I've received a short response saying tey are looking in to it and have sent a letter to Jervis.
In the grand scheme of things with everything going on in the world though as Vic Reeves would say "It don't really matter now does it."
Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

I guess that this is one of the reasons contributing to GWs dropping sales, I hope that they will fix it.

I also visited a GW store now when I got back home, GW in Copenhagen. For me it was the first time but the shopkeeper was a cool guy. The shop was really small but they did have 1 gaming table, have never seen so much GW stuff crammed into one place before.

GW's drop in sales was because they closed some US stores and made some changes to the way the other US stores operate (number of staff, opening hours etc). GW is a growing business. They made similar changes to their European business a few years back and their European operations are doing very well.

Really? That is good news.
Because what I heard from 40k Radio was that the GW revenue has been continuously droppign for some time now, so I had the opposite idea.

From the London Stock Exchange:

They made less money last year, but their profit margins were up. (ie lower sales, but more money per sale). This was during a period when there is a global recession on and they changed around a lot of stores.

An on the topic of finances, you can expect a surge in the coming years. The Hobbit has started filming and GW have the licence to release the game for it.

Fantastic, it is good to hear that some companies out there do that extra for their customers.

took a while a-comin, but fair do's - its a big company and all, and the wheels of beaurocracy doth turn slowly, when they turn at all.

I'm glad you were vindicated. Just in case, you should totally bring a printout of their reply promising you a game next time youre back home, just in case some punk ass kid working in the store denies you a second time. I can just imagine the look on their faces when you whip out your "proof I should get a game" email from their grand poobah :D
