僕は日本語が大嫌いですが、日本語はスペイン語やポルトガル語やフランス語より随分難しいです。日本語を習得することはエヴェレストに登るのと同じぐらいと思います。スペイン語やフランス語やポルトガル語は簡単なので日本語は勉強することはやめました。

Re: let's learn some lingo!
I spent this afternoon playing Black Powder with one of Ikeda-san's customers. He spoke a tiny little bit of English, but for the most part I had to teach him how to play the game in Japanese. Whilst I had a lot of fun playing the game and so did he, it was very hard work trying to explain things as I had no idea about the correct vocabulary to use. I really need to study more.....

Re: let's learn some lingo!
OK - after a coupla days break (due to restless baby and taking saturday night off to paint) here is my Lingo For The Day. This one is simple, but hopefully useful in a fairly everyday kind of way.
よく(simple past tense verb)ものです。
yoku (simple past tense verb) mono desu.
I often used to (verb)
for example...
大学生のころよくギターを弾いたものです。
daigakusei nokoro yoku gita- wo hiitamono desu.
When I was a university student I often used to play guitar.
Note: to use のころ(nokoro) you use:
(noun)のころ or (simple past tense)ころ (note there is a の for the noun and no の for the simple past.)
It means "at the time of ~" or more practically "When I ~"
Hope that proves useful for folks. Please feel free to educate us all with any particularly handy bits of japanese you know that spring to mind

La verdad es que si tan solo dedicas unas cuantas horas diariamente al estudio de español pudes lograr mucho. Un otro pedazo de verdad es que Miguel o Yarik serian mejores maestros de español que yo.Tenorikuma wrote:I oughta take some Spanish lessons from the Ruckster.
