Japan Red Cross.

Post by ashmie » Mon Mar 12, 2012 3:14 am

Hi everyone.
Just to let you know I deposited the 20,000 en we raised for Japan Red Cross through Family Mart yesterday.
http://www.jrc.or.jp/contribute/fami/index.html This is a new system they have. Money will go to the people directly affected by last years events. The committee is in charge of all prefectures affected and can designate money to survivors in each. Survivors can ask Japan Red Cross for this money also. This seemed like the most direct way I could find to donate. Cutting out the middleman so to speak this seemed like the quickest way to get the money up there.
Thanks again to everyone who helped with this event and donated. Japan Red Cross are taking further donations until September of this year if you would still like to contribute Family Mart is a good simple way to do it.
I'm going to research if there is any way I can volunteer in Summer for Japan Red Cross. They may be after more specialised workers at this stage but I'll check anyway. Watch this space for further details if this is of interest to you.

Thanks again :)
Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.
