Hello there
Hello there
I hope everything is great over there.
I still read your forum but I don’t have som much to contribute so I keep my mouth shut.
I just though I would give a little update. Back here in Sweden we have had a dreadful summer as always with only one week with great weather (25-30 degrees and sun). As for gaming I have not played much 40k 6th edition but I have played 2 battle of fantasy every week. I have to groups that I play with the big gaming club in my town and also some of my childhood friends. The gaming club is very tournament games-workshop focused and my old friends hate GW.
For the moment I am most excited about dystopian wars, there was two big problems, the rulebook was impossible to understand and no one knew how to create a scenario (heck the rulebook didn’t even give suggestion on the size of a table). But with rulebook 1.1 and hurricane season it is a blast.

Re: Hello there
Hey Frans,
Well, it is hot over here, 35 degrees most days and very humid.
2 games of Fantasy every week is really good. I am lucky if I can play 1 game of anything a week.
I guess it is good that you have 2 different groups you can play with as it gives you more options for what you can play. The big games here are still 40K, Fantasy and Warmachine, with the usual side games such as Flames of War and Cutlass making an appearance here and there.
Having tried Dystopian Wars, I found that the rulebook was kind of a mess, but not only that I was a little disappointed that it wasn't as simple as Uncharted Seas. One of the big selling points to me for US was the fact that it was very easy to play, the rules were simple and it played quickly. The two games of DW that I played were kind of long and a lot more complex. If that's your thing, you will really get a kick out of it but for me it was a little too much.
Are you still playing Disposable Heroes? I haven't played any 28mm WW2 games (except Dust Tactics) since that game against you. As Warlord are releasing their own rules, Bolt Action in a month or so I am hoping that I can get some more use from my German Infantry.
I hope you get some more nice weather soon. 25 degrees sounds very nice.
Keep in touch.

Hi Frans,
It is good that you are getting in lots of games of fantasy.
Are you still using the Tomb Kings?
I was in Finland not so long ago and the people there said much the same about the long winter and hort summer this year. I must say the 25 degrees sounds a lot better than here. Then again, at least we have a true night in summer. In Finland the sun never really left the sky.
Anyway, great to here from you!

Hi Franz, good to hear from you. I still haven't forgotten the tabling my marines took from your Grey Knights. Deadly.
Good to hear you are getting some quality gaming. I recently gave up war gaming as I couldn't hack the pace but I'm now looking forward to using the time for painting all those unfinished projects. I'm not the most popular person on the forums these days, more so than ever, but what's new. Glad you are doing well mate.
Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

As for dystopian wars I thought exactly the same thing as you did, but the new rules have simplified tiny flyghers and boarding. Made the easy to understand and added a great campain. I really rekommend hurrican season it is a great read, good picture and hardback.Primarch wrote:Hey Frans,

Still a 1000 pts battle takes a little to long.
28 mm WW2 have been put on the shelf for Dystopian. But I could not resist buying a churchill IV in 28 mm that I found on discount.
Otherwise I have been performing some massmurder of crayfish in my citchen today.

There is a lot of drama on this little forum, I think that you should do more beer drinking and less interneting.ashmie wrote:Hi Franz, good to hear from you.
