So I decide to make the plunge and buy some space marines to collect as a painting project for advanced space crusade. Worked out a cool-looking paint scheme for the Scythes of the Emperor and everything.

OK, first choice is to buy from Ikeda-san. Having heard that his shop's open Saturdays and Sundays, I head down to Osu to give him some money.

Store's closed. Hmm, there's an hour and a half of my day wasted.

All right, I'm pumped to paint, so what the hell, I'll bite the bullet and buy from GW. Put in my order, credit card info, place order.

"An error has occurred." No info about what kind of error or what I can do to fix it. Just an error.

I guess nobody wants to take my money for some space marines. Must be a sign.

Ikeda sans shop opens at around 1 pm, sometimes even 2pm. I was there last week and all the space marines he's got are one set of dark vengence space marines. He had them at 10 for 1000 yen. Please bear in mind that this was last week. Id call him up to confirm

...And then I get an automated e-mail from the GW webstore asking if I'd forgotten about my order. *sigh*

Looks like eBay is the way to go, actually. Plenty of vendors ship internationally and have NIB sets for about half what GWJ is charging.

If you are just after regular Space Marines, I recommend looking out for AOBR squads.

I kinda want all the extras you get in the tac squad box, and need scouts and terminators too anyway. Found a nice eBay store with all the sprues for sale very reasonably, so I reckon that's what I'll go with - assuming I get a non-insane postage estimate.

(I am still after 'nids, though.)

And eBay comes through. For about 10,000 yen altogether, I get a tactical squad, a scout squad, a terminator squad, and a box of boyz (you can never have too many mind slaves!). My goal of a playable game of advanced space crusade is nearing completion! <cue diabolical laughter>
