the Tally

Inspired by Ashmie's post a few days ago about his collated mini collection, I set out to spend a typhoony sunday afternoon looking at what I really had in those cupboards of mine. I think it would be very interesting to compare what we all have, so I propose a Grand Tallying. Here's how I see it working:

1) the Tally must be comprehensive, but may be vague. That is to say, you should include everything mini-related you have, but you don't have to list every single mini by name. e.g. "two big boxes of eldar" or "8000pts of eldar" is fine. We dont need to know you have all 6 phoenix lords.

2) the Tally includes peripheral stuff, like paints, brushes, camera, etc etc.

3) the Tally should mention any minis you have ordered but have not yet arrived. Those are real - you already paid for em (this is one I'm personally prone to forgetting. I'll order from Maelstrom and it'll take so long to arrive, I'll order again cos I need my fix...)

4) the Tally does not need to include pics, but it's much more interesting if it does.

The following post will be: My Tally

the Tally of me_in_japan, October 1st, 2012

1) About 8000 pts of eldar, comprised of:

a big box of eldar infantry and tanks.

and two smaller boxes (on the right) containing more vehicles and super heavies
Image

2) About 4000 pts of dark eldar, comprised of:

a GW case of dark eldar infantry and tanks
Image

and 3 much smaller boxes of awkward sized and shaped minis
Image

3) about 4000 pts of nurgle, comprised of:

a big box of CSM infantry and tanks
Image

and a smaller box of unbuilt heroes and bikers
Image

4) A big Battlefoam case of Cryx (about 85pts), also containing Blood Bowl and my half a dozen or so Malifaux minis.
Image

5) Two smallish boxes of collectible minis not-for-gaming, for example rackham wolfen or 54mm GW wood elf.
Image

6) A small box of minis intended for use in my Warmahordes and Malifaux armies/gangs but as-yet unassembled.
Image

7) A middle sized box o bits.
Image

8) Space Hulk
Image

9) A fairly substantial collection of Magic Cards, as well as a 1ft high model of Bahamut from Final Fantasy 8
Image

10) 3 2ft X 4ft gaming boards
Image

11) A rather expensive DSLR camera, with macro lens.
Image

12) A big box of scenery
Image

13) A plethora of rulebooks and novels. And some trollbloods. And a stereo for the painty room.
Image

14) A fairly substantial collection of paints. Can you spot the lion?

15) A cupboard full of minis.

16) A very, very messy room-for-spray-painting-and-sawing-and-generally-making-a-mess-in.

My wife and I moved here with the intent of staying several years and raising one or two kids here. However, while its certainly very spacious, the house is very old, and has innumerable problems, so we're moving out next year probably. Good news is, we're building our own house. Bad news is, it wont be as big as this one :(

probly also worth mentioning that the rent here is 90k a month, which is ok just now while my wife is on maternity leave, but after she comes off itll be cripplingly pricey.

Great tour of the collection Dave thanks. Wow that Lion is a lot smaller than I thought. Good work. I liked the way unassembled and yet to be painted featured heavily in the list much like my count the other day. Impressive model cabinet, painting space and bookshelf. Good to see you went for the 6th ed finally. I haven't read mine yet either. That could be another list tally, read and unread books!
Love the BA Barracas builds stuff room.
Did you make a pile for minis that are too precious or scary to paint?

@Prim You could host a 16-player 40K campaign and supply all the armies!

*Looks at his 3-mat gaming space and bookcases filled to bursting, and cries.*

(I'll do my tally later this evening. My camera's batteries were shot this morning.)
