Ok, Ok, consider me shouted down. Not that I was claiming that using old GW models was against the rules (at least, I dont think I said that - I cant find the first part of this thread. It certainly wasnt my intent to imply such.) I was more making the point that conversions/proxies should be done with care, not willy-nilly and all slapdash. Even ork ones.

Eldar Avatar: 3 models. Same stats on all of em. Forge World, current GW one, old GW one. Tell me they dont play differently and you shall detect the whiff of burning around your nether regions...
Anyway, my final word on the matter: The new trukk looks cool. The old one looks sXXX. Argue wi' that, why dont you?

(in fact, don't argue with that, please, as having agreed that old ork trukks are legal to use (not that I approve of em, exactly, but they are legal)) I must confess to being bored with this thread. Surely we can find something else to argue about?)
current (2019) hobby interests
eh, y'know. Stuff, and things

Wow. And then Corona happened. Just....crickets, all the way through to 2023...

I well agree that that the old trukk is crap... and the new one is better... but for me the scratch-built ones are the best hands down the best... I think a kit bashed new one of old won has potential but... if some one is taking and building a model for tactical advantage then one might just have a problem with it... however I think I talked Konrad in to using his "trukk" as a Battle-wagon that should keep the things Kool for now...

Maybe if you finished gluing them together and painting them, they would look better. I know ork trukks are supposed to be ramshackle, but when the model falls in half each time you move it, it doesnt look so good. ;)

It will be a Battlewaggon once I get the time to rivet more armor plates on it and make it look like it's AV14 in the front. (Deff Rolla, deffrolla, deffrolla,) Until then, it's a trukk. Just the biggest, baddest, gnarliest, meanest looking monster truck in the whole damn ooniverse. Oye!
More seriously on the subject of scratch builds. I've been playing for so long and play so infrequently these days, hell the game changes faster than I can keep up. I like making stuff. Sometimes the stuff I makes might be advantageous. (Extra wide truck gives me an extra inch of disembark movement) Sometimes it's not (hard to hide it when it's perched up on those big tires). All evens out in the end. I think.
But I don't usually think. I play Orks instead.
...and now his Head was full of nothing but Inchantments, Quarrels, Battles, Challenges, Wounds, Complaints, Amours, and abundance of Stuff and Impossibilities.....
