There's JIGG Kansai, but they mostly play board games and RPGs.

There is a group in Kyoto I believe. You should try PMing either Ashmie or Lovejoy as I think they know more about it.

Hello
I am pretty sure there is a gaming club called Phoenix Legion that plays every couple of weeks in Kyoto. I say pretty sure, as I used to play with them from time to time and can only assume they still meet up. They used to operate mostly out of the Yellow Submarine store there. When i lived nearer to Kansai (and actually had free time) I would play Fantasy Battle and 40k with them, nice bunch. They also played the odd game of Mordheim and other old school GW games. Attendees are mostly Japanese guys with a smattering of English, pretty friendly though, I am sure they would be happy to play.

Re: Gaming club in Kansai area?
Hello. I run Tsu games club. We are in Kansai, Mie. Our next event should be sometime in July.
Our two big events are the RPG festival in March and the all analog games weekend in October.
I usually update on the forum if we have an event or you can check our blog page http://artsreformclubtsu.tumblr.com/
Please feel free to join or suggest any games you would like to play. We have 4 tables that are bookable for boardgames/tabletop RPG and miniatures.
Hope to see you there sometime. Feel free to join. Usually 500 yen for the day.
Watch this space.
The Phoenix Legion are still going in Kyoto but now only meet fortnightly at Yellow Submarine. Mainly Warhammer related. They did have another club for other games but it stopped.
Kansai Jigg has groups in Osaka and Kobe who meet monthly. They can be found on BGG or FB.
