Blood Bowl

Thanks to MIJ who taught me how to play Blood Bowl on Wednesday evening/morning.
I can honestlysay it is one of the best games I have ever played and has changed the way I feel about the hobby.
I heard a lot of you used to have a league going in Yokkaichi. I'd be up for playing again and getting a team if Mus or anyone else wanted to start it up again.
It's really well balanced and bloody good fun. Even though I lost 3-0 there was no stress involved and I didn't feel like I'd been mentally raped afterwards like 40k can sometimes feel like.
I think I'm going to go for a human team or an elf team.

Jervis Johnson has done a lot of great game design in his career, but BB really is his magnum opus, I reckon.

BB is a great game when played with the right attitude and the right people. After a long hiatus having been put off the game by playing people who didnt fit that description very well, I may have to look at getting a team put together.

Yep, If you had been introduced by me and MiJ it would have been a much more positive experience. But not to worry, I have gotten more than enough revenge for you by killing an incalculable number of the Admirals players over the years. Not to say it was the Admiral that put you off.......

Anyway... today I was at Ikeda's place I saw a BB box set for sale...

And I then was at Mondo Books playing games when BB came up as a topic. Adm. Badruck and I. Grimjaw discussed this with me a bit...

Also it just so happens Mondo Books is really laid back place perfect for afternoon and late night gaming....

Oh, and a new year will be rolling around in a couple of months...

So, do you guys think there is any chance for something like a BB league?

Most definitely. There was one before in Yokkaichi. I'm currently bidding on a human team on e bay.

it looks like there may well be some interest.
Does anyone in Nagoya have an actual team/pitch/templates etc?

I was introduced to the game when it first came out, with the molded board and everything. (That pitch was seriously ace and far better than the cardboard one in later editions).

What put me off was a certain game of Dungeon Bowl that lasted for 4+ hours and saw most of my team being massacred despite my best efforts to hand over the ball to anyone, whilst 2 players who shall not be named here tried to shout me down with "Dont trust him!" "Its a trick!" and other pointless arguments.

If there IS a new BB league starting. I will NOT be playing Dungeon Bowl. And I will not be playing multiplayer games ever again.

Not that I am bitter or anything.
